![]() the fans are definitely good enough that you don't need to go out of your way to buy noctua or scythe fans. it comes with two THICC 38mm x 180mm fans in front and 3 140mm fans on the bottom that feed right into your graphics card. this puppy will fit even the thicc'est of 4090. I assume that you don't literally mean "money is not an issue" because i can think of some insanely crazy case for you.įor all practical purposes, Fractal Design Torrent. ![]() If you value low noise a lot, then you have to sacrifice on thermals somewhat (with air cooling) and the answer is C. If you want the best airflow, period, the answer is A, if you want the best airflow while being able to speak normally, the answer may be B. That's fine, it's why we all come to these forums. I am 100% confident folks will be along to nit-pick me momentarily. At that point, because they are all pretty close to one another, other considerations such as size and or cable management etc are going to have more of a decision impact rather than just who moves the most CFM. If, otoh, you're deaf or wear headphones all the time and don't care, The Fractal Torrent, Silverstone and Lian Li are all going to offer fantasic alternatives. This is because they went with bigger fans (140mm), which move more air at a lower RPM, and thus less noise and less fan whine. The current champ is the Phanteks P500A, which can both keep your temps pretty cool (49-51C under load for CPU and GPU) while still being pretty quiet (36db, which is actually below conversational speech in terms of noise). Which is to say, what case is going to be good at keeping the various bits cool while not sounding like a turboprop plane under your desk (or on it). I think GamersNexus has hit on an important point with their noise normalized thermal tests. To really answer it you need to ask how much dba noise you're willing to live with. This can be a simple or complex question. When talking about very open cases where the entire front is loaded with intake fans and the rear of the case doesn't obstruct the airflow, the idea of "hot air pockets" is absolutely ridiculous. The scenario would involve either non-existent airflow in the case or some area of the case that gets no airflow but has a hot component in it. In order to create something that could be described as pocket of hot air, you'd need to have some specific area that isn't getting any airflow from the fans yet at the same time heats up somehow. It changes the way air gets in and out of the case. When talking about "pressure" in a computer case, it's not the atmospheric pressure inside the case (that notion is ridiculous) but the ratio between intake and exhaust fans, accounting not just for their number but also actual performance, which may be different than theoretical performance due to filters, radiators and other restrictions. Seriously, show me where you think there's a "pocket of hot air" in there. Way to create nonsensical myths.Įspecially in case of the Torrent which is designed in such way that it literally doesn't need an exhaust fan since the rear of the case is almost entirely open. WOW! This is such a dumb reasoning that makes absolutely no sense.
